Community Embedded

Allium is located in Harvard Square, so students take frequent trips on foot to Harvard’s museums of natural history, anthropology, and art history to learn about the world and in turn, themselves. Teachers are also intentional about connecting students with people in our diverse community, in order to listen to their stories and learn from them. For example, students participate in intergenerational literacy projects with our friends at Youville Assisted Living Residences and serve food to homeless neighbors at the Friday Café across the Cambridge Common. Our students’ investment in their community builds a foundation for life-long civic participation, including the ability to navigate multiple perspectives, resolve conflicts, and create positive change.

Since our school is adjacent to Harvard's Law campus, these inspiring museums are less than a 10-minute walk away.
